Today started again shortly before 7 to start the day. Then it was time to wake up the kids, brush their teeth, put on their school uniforms, and make breakfast. We had toast and I have now come to the conclusion that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that could make them finish their breakfast in less than an hour... But we eventually got through it. After breakfast, we put on our jackets, scarves, etc. and set off to school on scooters. When we arrived, a fatal question arose: "Where is the little one's backpack?" The answer: at home. We're already leaving the house with 4 people and still no one realizes that we're missing a backpack. But since the first grade doesn't require much, it wasn't a problem. So we took them to their classrooms and headed to the doctor's office.
There, I had to fill out a form to be added to the file, so I wouldn't have to wait 5 days if something happened. But it wasn't just one form, it was 6. And all in the best business English you can imagine. I had to google so many technical terms - you can't even imagine. After some back and forth and numerous phone calls, all the forms were filled out and I could finally leave.
Every 2 weeks, Wednesday is laundry day. This means that all the beds are stripped and re-made, the laundry is washed, and the towels are exchanged. So the morning consisted mostly of putting laundry in the machine, hanging it up, folding the dry laundry, carrying it through the whole house, and ironing. It sounds like a lot, but it went faster than expected, so I had some time before I had to go pick up the girls from school.
When they got home again, we had dinner. We had broccoli, mashed potatoes, and fish fingers. They're just regular fish sticks, but calling them fish fingers sounds cooler. :D
As always, dinner took forever, but I think the girls are actually the only kids in the world who enjoy eating broccoli.
Afterwards, we all played quartet together and then got the girls ready for bed.
After that, I went out in the evening for the first time. A friend took me to Wetherspoons, where we met another friend. Wetherspoons is a chain of cozy pubs all over England. It has a very pleasant atmosphere and phenomenal food. Kopparberg Mixed Fruit is the best drink of all time. It's a cider, kind of like beer, but practically without alcohol, but with fruit taste. It's simply heavenly. We also had garlic pizza bread and the most fantastic chocolate brownie with ice cream. Then we took the bus back home around 9:45 pm.
It was a really nice day.
