A little outside the city center of Lima is the district of Chaclacayo, which offers an idyllic small-town atmosphere with nature and beautiful weather. The sun always shines here and the climate is particularly dry, even in winter!
There are many beautiful small and large houses with expansive gardens in the narrow streets near a river.
Together with my host family, I visited their house in Chaclacayo and was especially fascinated by the diverse garden, in which many different plants grow despite the extremely dry soil: the typical Peruvian Chirimoya, avocados, onions, mangoes, cocoa, pineapples, sweet potatoes, and much more.
Most of the fruits on the trees are not ripe yet, but in a few months there will be a lot to harvest here. Impressive what nature has to offer!
