After two days in Queenstown we continued to Milford Sound with an overnight stop in Te Anau. We had chosen a campsite right by the lake, which already offered us a magnificent view.
The next day we drove to Milford Sound early in the morning to catch our ship that took us through the Fiordland. We didn't have time for the viewpoints along the road in the morning, but we visited them on the way back.
Unfortunately, we were not lucky with the weather that day, so Milford Sound could not present itself as splendidly as on a clear sunny day. But it was still impressive. Especially the densely forested mountains that rise directly from the sea to a height of 1700 meters. The wind blew around us at up to 120 km/h, but we were well equipped and could always stay on deck.
