I really liked our campsite from yesterday, I could easily stay longer there, do some hiking, chilling, grilling, and so on..
But this morning I woke Michelle up early again, we have this routine where she gets her breakfast in bed, and then we start driving..
After that, as recommended by an anonymous source, we entered the gates of Plitvice National Park at an ungodly hour.
Thankfully we were early, because from around noon we were literally surrounded by Asians. The lakes are spectacular and beautiful, I can really recommend the park, but if there's a lot of crowding on the paths, the whole area somehow loses its charm. So --> go as early as possible. It's difficult to capture in pictures.. there are just too many because everything is sooo amazing and needs to be photographed ;) so we'll just post a few individual ones..
By the way, we also escaped the looming thunderclouds that have been chasing us since Sunday.
Currently, we only have bright to pale blue skies above us, I hope it stays that way. Today we heard from a Zadar vacationer that the entire Zadar region was completely flooded, so weather-wise we got away with just a minor hiccup even though we thought we had bad weather... So everything is back in perspective again.
Now we're in close proximity (3km) to Krka National Park, which is supposed to be even more beautiful(!!), it's a mini-camping site with a mini-pool?! in the middle of nowhere... I suspect there was a competition with the neighbor who also has a pool ;) The neighbors brought their cat.. there are also some English people who have been hitchhiking through all of France..
Tomorrow we'll explore the national park with our bikes and then (on Michelle's direct and emphatic request) head back to the sea.
