Broome (3 days)

On Thursday morning, we drove from Derby to Broome. We stayed at the Caravan Park near the beautiful Cable Beach for 3 nights.

We had 3 incredibly great and relaxing days. Perfect timing, the 'Staircase to the Moon' spectacle is celebrated during full moon. This means that at moonrise, it reflects in the sea in such a way that it looks like a staircase up to the moon. We followed the recommendation and spent the afternoon/evening at the Mangrove Hotel. At the back, facing the sea, there is a beautiful terrace that is illuminated and gives the whole thing a certain charm with live music. A very beautiful and memorable experience.

Of course, we took advantage of the days in Broome to enjoy other highlights such as swimming at Cable Beach, climbing the lookout point, visiting the local brewery, watching the sunset at Cable Beach, taking a walk into town, buying pearl earrings, visiting the Sun Pictures cinema (one of the oldest outdoor cinemas in the world), etc. and tick them off our to-do list.

With many impressions of beautiful beaches, spectacular views and sunsets, new jewelry, sore feet (walking 7-8km into town in flip-flops in scorching heat was rather challenging), and great experiences, we left Broome today, Sunday, and head south.
