Just a kilometer from the campsite in Andenes is the world's largest research center for auroras.
The first rocket experiments were launched in the early 60s, so the focus was on auroras as well as rockets and space exploration in general.
We didn't know what awaited us when we booked the mission to Mars to discover extraterrestrial life. But it was a very special adventure.
Just like real astronauts, we were trained for the mission and assigned roles. Julius was the pilot, Konstantin was the astrobiologist, Anita took care of astrogeology, Sina managed communication and the Mars Rover, with which we had to collect samples from the Martian surface. I was responsible for mission coordination.
After the space flight, we had to land the spacecraft on the Martian surface, control the Rover (using a VR headset) on Mars, collect samples, and finally return safely to Earth.
However, we could only accomplish this adventure as a team.
A truly great experience, and we learned a lot about Mars, space exploration, and the idea of life beyond Earth.
Of course, we also didn't miss the exhibition and rocket building.
After that, we quickly headed towards Lofoten.
