Today, the glacier tour was finally on the agenda.
After the first attempt in the north (Svartisen) fell through, we were very happy that the weather looked good and stable during the bike ride and the subsequent hike.
However, about 150 meters before the destination, a heavy rain with wind suddenly started. The wind was so strong that I had to hold Julius steady for the last few meters. We reached the glacier soaking wet. The advantage of the bad weather: we were alone right by the glacier, because everyone else had already fled down ;-)
Enjoying the glacier in this crazy weather for a few moments, and then we went back completely drenched.
We quickly took the shortcut with the boat to the parking lot - together with a senior travel group from Ukraine - and then another 6 km by bike to the campsite.
I put on my vest and jacket for Julius, as he was trembling all over his body.
But the kids held up great. Because 12 km by bike, 2 hours of hiking, and then the bad weather was no joke.
In the evening, we had a warm shower and oatmeal with cocoa and cinnamon.
