Today is a relatively uneventful travel day. We are heading east from Montreal towards Quebec, but a few kilometers before, we will turn left and head north.
Like so often, we pack our bags, load them into the car, and try to find our way out of the big city chaos. Thanks to the navigation system and a few improvised detours around construction sites, we are on the right track. Since we will be staying four days at the rather remote Hotel Sacacomie, we stop along the way to buy some fruits, snacks, and drinks. There are no shops near the hotel.
After about 2 hours, we turn onto the last road surrounded by forests. No sign of other houses anymore. I wonder if there is anything ahead.. and indeed, in the middle of the forest, our accommodation appears. Everything is made of wood and built with giant tree trunks.
We go to the lobby and check in. Everything goes smoothly. We receive the keys and go to the room. The only problem is that the room looks pretty chaotic. Something seems to have been forgotten..
So we have to kill time until the room is ready. But instead of waiting, we take the opportunity to explore the spa area. With the help of the staff, we eventually find our way around and enjoy the pools and sun loungers. We take it easy and only go back to the lobby at 6 pm. Is the room ready? Yes. Finally, we go to dinner at 9 pm and enjoy a delicious four-course meal :)
Unfortunately, there aren't many pictures from the day. But there will surely be more opportunities in the coming days.
