Thursday, 09/27/18:
Today we started very early because we wanted to be at Zion National Park around 8 a.m. The park itself is one of the most visited in the USA, where visitors can choose between different hiking trails of varying difficulty levels. We opted for 2 easier tours, as they also fit into our time frame. Otherwise, a tour can easily last over 8 hours. We were offered some magnificent views. The local wildlife seemed to have already gotten used to humans, as our path was occasionally crossed by a type of ground squirrel. By the way, feeding the animals was strictly prohibited. Overall, we were very impressed with the park and can highly recommend it to any visitor.
In the early afternoon, we continued to Bryce Canyon. On the way, a somewhat daring climbing session gave us some beautiful photos of Zion National Park.
Finally, at around 4 p.m., we arrived at our second destination of the day. After filling ourselves up at the local salad buffet, we drove on to Sunset View Point, where we stayed until about 7:30 p.m. Unfortunately, we were denied a beautiful sunset on this day.
After a 3-hour drive, we reached our next accommodation in Page, Arizona, completely exhausted. Upon arrival, there was an unpleasant surprise: something seemed to be wrong with our booking. Luckily, Steffi had printed out all the important documents in advance. With that and thanks to the help of the patient receptionist, we were able to check in after all. What a stress at the end of an action-packed day...
