After a short walk to the train station, today we went to the city center with the brand new Elizabeth Line. Day ticket for 2 adults and a child costs about 40 pounds for everything that goes around here.
The trains were a bit over-air-conditioned, but other than that, they were like a wagon from front to back and running every 5 minutes. Later it became every 10 minutes. The journey was mostly underground, but it was the fastest way to cover the distance.
From Liverpool Station, we continued with the subway. The cars were from 1973, really warm and loud.
The destination was the Natural History Museum. It is similar to the one in Berlin, with the difference that the admission is free. This also applies to the very good toilets at the train stations. A real plus point - especially on vacation.
After that, we used the bus for transportation. This way, you can also have a good look around. They drive quite slowly due to heavy traffic. If you have time, definitely better than the subway, at least for the passengers. Bus drivers are wanted - for those who need a challenge...
Back again by train.
We have now also discovered the shoe thief (fox), and Monique was jumped on by a German Shepherd at the campsite who had broken free. Luckily nothing worse happened.
