Hey hey! 🥰
I'm happy to take you back into my - sometimes very crazy - life. It really is about time again. 😅 As usual, first a little recap and then a look into the present and future. Look forward to lots of pictures! 🙌🏻
First of all: I have now sublet my room in Ansbach. Yeihh! 🎉 Even for the exact period I'm in Munich. I'm really happy that I've found someone - a trainee teacher who is at a school in Ansbach. So coming back is guaranteed! 😎 So there are currently 5 boys and 1 girl in our shared flat in Ansbach. I don't know how this could have happened. 😂 If you remember, we started with 7 girls. I'm also really looking forward to having my own car (see gallery). I will take over my parents' car when they move to Africa. That will be soon… 🥲
But let's start... At the beginning of August, I visited my grandparents, my aunt and my uncle. It's always nice. 😊 Then I went on to visit my parents shortly afterwards. On 07/08 my mom took me to the airport in Düsseldorf. 🚙 I was on my way to see my friend, who was about to get married. 💒 Once again, one week was far too short. But it was a very beautiful wedding. The wedding ceremony took place on a ranch and so did the party afterwards. Her parents, i.e. my host parents and I, traveled to Pennsylvania for the wedding. She actually grew up in Virginia, but her work drew her to Pennsylvania. Also my home state, so to speak. She looked so happy! ☺️
The rest of the time I went with my host family where they went and once we went on a trip to Colonial Beach in Virginia. 🏖️ A really beautiful beach on the Potomac River. I hadn't been there before either, but there are always places I haven't seen yet. There were a few complications on my return flight. 😅 This time I wanted to take the Flixbus from Richmond to Washington Union Station to save my host parents the trip, as it would have been a total of 4 hours there and back. But the Flixbus was canceled and I was pressed for time. ⌛️ When I left 1 hour later than planned, I realized during the journey that I would never make it to the airport on time, because I also had to take the Silver Line (metro) from Union Station to the airport for another 1h15 min. So I thought about the best thing to do now. So I ordered an Uber to Springfield. 🚕 When I got out, the cab driver arrived a few minutes later. The first thing I said to him was: 'You know you saved my day, right?' He was so happy. He took me to the airport on time. 👍🏻 Well, at least it wasn't as expensive as if I had to organize another flight. Something always happens and things always don't go according to plan. Does that upset me? Nope, not usually... remember the story from Dubai 😂 It will all work out anyway.
Back in Germany, I spent some time with my brother, my sister-in-law and my super cute niece. 💗 She helped me decide what else to take with me to Ansbach. Whenever I'm there, I always take a few of my things with me, as my brother will be moving in and I'll have to clear out my room. But I also met up with two friends. I went to the nearby Kohlberg, which is next to our village, with my best friend. ⛰️🥾
Back in Ansbach, I made a small American table for my flatmates. 🇺🇸 So they could try sweets from abroad. 🍬 Sometimes I like to go for a walk in our town. In summer, especially in the evening when it's a bit cooler. That's why I took these interesting moon/night pictures, which you can see in the gallery. 🌕 We've now reached the end of August again. I tried to do something with all my friends from Ansbach again before I moved. So I went to a quarry pond in Spalt with a friend or had ice cream with a friend. 😃
Yes, and then it was time for me to move. On 28.08. I went to Munich. You can also see the extent of my move in the pictures. It's not that much, I don't think... 😄 I've already stored half of it in my landlord's garage. It all fitted into 1 car. I think you can tell that I've moved out. The kitchen is empty now. When I arrived in Munich, I had to clear out first. Take a look at my room. I think it looks quite nice for half a year. 🤗
I don't want to make this blog entry too long, but I still have to tell you about my Munich Challenge and my first day at ProSieben! 🫢 I have set myself an ultimatum. As long as I live in Munich, I want to visit all the lakes. Okay, from today onwards I'll probably only have time at the weekends. 🫣 But I'm already very excited. I've already visited three lakes in the last few days. These include Lake Tegernsee, Lake Schliersee and Lake Starnberg. Which lake will I be visiting next? 🤔 I don't know myself. I always decide spontaneously. Each of the lakes has something and it's hard to pick a favorite. Lake Tegernsee was great to do together with Lake Schliersee in one day because a bus takes you there directly. 🚌
The tour to Lake Starnberg was less fun. 🫠 It was quite warm on Friday. As many people wanted to go to the water, the train was accordingly full. For many, this meant standing for at least 40 minutes. I didn't have a seat either. After a while, one man had to lie down because he was having circulatory problems. I also noticed that I felt light-headed and suddenly felt completely deaf in my ears. This was probably also due to the sometimes really warm air on the train. So it was all the nicer to run in the fresh air. 🚶🏼♀️Ich I walked around 24,000 steps on Thursday when I visited Tegernsee and Schliersee. It's really amazing what your own body can do. 💪🏻 I definitely couldn't miss dipping my legs in the water and it was such a good way to cool down. 😁
On Saturday I visited the city itself, the Isar area and the Olympic Park. It's also so beautiful. Am I in love with the area? 🥰 Mhh... Ask me again in a month's time. I was accompanied by someone I met in Munich. 🙌🏻
But now to my first day at ProSieben. This morning was the day. 😃 For the first time in a long time, I got up so early to leave my apartment shortly after seven. I always get on the S-Bahn in Unterhaching. 🚊 With one change, I'm in Unterföhring within 30 minutes. Exactly where ProSieben is based. As I arrived a little early, I waited outside reception. I was a little surprised when I was given a visitor's pass. 🤔 Well, it was later exchanged for a real card. I was picked up at 8:30 a.m. by my contact person, who took me straight to my office. I then started to set up all the programs I would need in the next six months. At 9:15 a.m., I had my first editorial meeting. 😁📉 My current tasks are analyzing the ratings of individual programmes and dividing programmes into thematic blocks. So I get paid for watching TV 😂 - and I also learn something. My working day always runs from 8:30 am to 5 pm. However, I can switch to working from home on Friday afternoons. The first day went by so quickly. I guess that's the way it is when there's a lot to do. 💁🏼♀️ I'm really excited to see what else I can tell you about my time there. 🤙🏻
On that note, have a good week! 🙃
