On the eleven-hour flight in a brand-new A330 neo in the Premium Economy class (it was a complimentary perk from Condor when booking a year ago) and stylish interior design, we enjoyed comfortable legroom, perfect service, with free alcoholic beverages (as an aperitif, we had sparkling wine with orange juice) after reaching cruising altitude and also later during the meal, if desired...
The inflight entertainment was not that exciting. Many movies, most of which were unfamiliar to us by name, and the rest didn't say much or fell off our interest list because they were from ARD's evening program. However, you could connect to the monitor via Bluetooth, which was already an improvement.
After landing in LA, we feared that we would once again stand in an endless line of incoming non-Americans at the immigration point. But, we were mistaken: we had never been through customs so quickly – double swear. After ten minutes, we were at the baggage claim, and after another five minutes, we had both suitcases. Sometimes you just have to be lucky.
The rest reads quickly: Shuttle to the airport hotel and then sleep.
That we had trouble with the internet in the hotel and the check-in at Hawaiian Airlines for the flight the next day to Kona on Big Island... I'd rather not mention that; we don't want to spread only bad vibes... but it was still annoying.
Tomorrow is Monday and a new day that will finally take us to the dream islands for many people: We’re going to happy Hawaii (as ABBA already sang :)).
