We started the day cozy. Our tour began with a train ride to Hamburg-Jungfernstieg station, which is included in the Interrail ticket.
From there, we started our journey: Alsterarkaden and the town hall were the first stops. Inside the huge town hall, there were futuristic water dispensers, benches around columns, and a beautiful fountain in the courtyard!
We continued to St. Peter's Church and then to the St. Nikolai Memorial. We went up the 75m tower to enjoy the view of Hamburg. The associated museum added a historical touch to the day.
We headed towards Speicherstadt, where we passed by St. Katharinen Church, which has a great organ.
We enjoyed the view of an old, small harbor from the Magellan Terraces.
The Elbphilharmonie also deserved a closer look. Afterwards, we visited the Miniature Wonderland and found the Milka cow and fire department kangaroos.
After dinner, we took a quick walk to Beatles Square and looked up at freedom. We quickly went back home as we were very tired (side note: 18km on foot).
Tomorrow we will continue by train!
