Well, I actually wanted to drive to Spitzkoppe today and spend the day there... When I arrived, I was able to take some photos with my DSLR camera (pictures will follow), but unfortunately the campsite was already fully booked because a group of 50 people was supposed to arrive today... The second campsite was only for people with tents or campers and I have neither... The last time I camped there with my rooftop tent, but this time I don't have one... And the lodge has so few rooms that it was also fully booked. Well, that's why I moved on to Outjo today, where I want to meet Cham tomorrow for Etosha. That was another 3 hours drive. Since it was only 1½ hours to Spitzkoppe, it wasn't that bad after all! 😅
It's just annoying that with this self-drive safari you can't really plan too far in advance, because SOMETHING can always come up and then all the planning is useless! Especially annoying when you have already booked accommodation for every other location! That's why, if you don't necessarily need a reservation, like in Etosha for example, you usually just go to the place where you want to go and then book a place to stay on site. Normally, this works well in 99% of cases, this time it was just the 1% where it didn't work out... But well, I've been there twice before and have already experienced it! 😉
Tomorrow I will meet Cham in Outjo for Etosha! The accommodations are already booked there! 👍😉
