Lima celebrates its participation in the World Cup.

We really liked Lima thanks to the tips from Mile and Francisco from Santiago. Miraflores was a nice place to walk around and explore. We were amazed by the paragliders and the opportunity to surf. At first, we were wondering why there were so many people wearing the Peruvian jersey, but when two fighter jets flew around the promenade, we realized that the Peru-New Zealand rematch was taking place in Lima that evening. The Peruvians celebrated their victory and qualification for the World Cup late into the night, and of course, the next day was a holiday! From there, we continued to chaotic Piura, which was just a short stopover before we drove to Mancora and finally got back to the sea after what felt like an eternity. We enjoyed the sun, the beach, and the sea to the fullest, and Jonas happily snorkelled with a few turtles.
