Bad Staffelstein... 9 days of timeout

The morning is once again full of sunshine. Thomas prepares a delicious breakfast. It is later in the morning when I start my last short stage of 20 km to Bad Staffelstein. It is still very hilly here, and sometimes I can't make it up the hills with the heavy trailer without getting off and pushing the cart. Time has become so unrealistic for me that I am a little shocked when it is already early afternoon and I finally arrive at my friend's place. It is a great joy, as we haven't seen each other in a few years.

The weather is so unpleasant that I stay here for a few days. What a comfort! 🙏 To be able to be in the warm during this cold rainy weather. I have become very aware and grateful for these otherwise taken-for-granted things in my life.

We have a very nice time here. My friend takes me to visit some power spots... The area is beautiful. We find a little swallow. It sits on the path... doesn't move from the spot. We put it in the grass... it stays there too. We think about how we can help it. That's when my friend has the idea to take it to the animal shelter. The nice lady is already waiting for us... or rather for the little swallow. Now it will have a warm and safe haven. How nice 😊

I am a little behind on my journey and decide to take the train to my next destination. I have arranged to meet my dear friend Gaby in Northeim.
