From Murter to Zagreb

Naipablaak: 07.08.2021

We made a nice stop on the island of Murter, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. We liked the sailing village of Jezera, with a relaxed atmosphere at the campsite, mostly local tourists on the pebble beach, and a beautiful cycling and walking path to the next village.

From here, we continued along the coast to Zadar until we reached the next highlight for the children: the giant campsite Zaton. It's not a small camping village, but rather a city with a water park, football training, evening shows, etc. We were a bit overwhelmed, but the boys found it exciting and great, so we spent two nights here. It's also interesting to see how different people want to spend their vacations.

The last stop by the sea was called Seline, a small village just north of the island of Pag. Here, we stayed at a smaller campsite right by the sea, where the sea feels more like a lake, completely calm and enclosed by (semi-)islands. Here, we experienced another thunderstorm. It was quite impressive, actually a continuous strobe show ;-))

We also stayed around the Plitvice Lakes twice, once at a horse ranch that is still under construction and practically has no infrastructure (composting toilet), but is beautifully located in the hills with a view of Bosnia. And then we discovered a real gem: a spot right by the Korana River, which is a natural river full of water lilies, frogs, and fish. We were allowed to paddle around with the camping canoe and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere on the water and small waterfalls. There was only one other bus there, which was a relief after the crowds at Zaton campsite and the Plitvice Lakes.
