22.09.2018, Bangkok:
There was a lot going on at the airport. First, filling out a document regarding entry and exit, then going through passport control. No problems at all. In Germany, it was said that you should have at least 550 € in cash, bank statements were not enough, otherwise entry could be denied. All talk. Nobody asked for it. However, it is actually good to have cash in € with you to be able to change smaller amounts and save the five to six euro withdrawal fee. On the other hand, the risk of being robbed is greater with a large amount of cash.
Relief when I actually found the correct baggage claim. In Germany, I was told that my luggage might disappear because I put my backpack in a bag with only the codes on the outside. The same was said to other travelers, as I heard from two boys and two girls from the same flight. They took a taxi, I went to the train.
In any case, the train ride to the hotel alias hovel was an adventure. Change trains once, a completely different system. You buy a token to even get to the train. You keep this to be able to leave the train at another station. The risk of suicide is also much lower. You do not get to the tracks. There is a continuous barrier. Here, the doors open together with those of the train.
Generally, the day was nice today, the Lumphini Park with its sports facilities and live participation dance impressed me. The night market was cool too. However, the hotel room made me question the whole trip on the first day. Living in mold and dirty beds all the time? But after a short consideration: Pay more attention to reviews! On the other hand, it is also a bit lonely in the hotel room. I hope I will get along with the hostel life. Less privacy, but more social contacts. I think I'm happy to trade that! I'm excited about tomorrow's program.
