This morning we filled and emptied the motorhome tanks again, then headed towards Tomich and Plodda Falls on a busy single track road...the last 2 miles on a gravel road with severe potholes. Of course, we miss the right turn for the hike to the waterfall, so we take a little detour (1 hour?) But then we have a view of the impressive Plodda Fall.
After a quick lunch in the motorhome, we head back over the potholes and towards the north... today we have a few more miles to go.
Short stop for shopping in Beauly and then the unexpected happens...while reversing in a relatively small parking lot, we overlook a step in the parking boundary...and suddenly the bumper is only hanging on the cables for the taillights. We will have to confess to Graham, the depot manager. Flo temporarily fixes the bumper with tape...hopefully we won't lose it in the next few miles (including the license plate).
On the way to Dunnet Head (the northernmost point of the British mainland), we make a stop at Dunrobin Castle...a beautiful castle in the French style with a dreamy English garden.
2 hours later, we finally arrive at Dunnet Head, enjoy a short view of the Orkney Islands, and find a great spot for the night just below (in the middle of nowhere).
Uploading photos is currently proving to be difficult...mobile internet here in the north is very slow due to a lack of civilization.
