Vietnam - Hanoi

Naipablaak: 06.11.2018

Helooooooo dear ones,

We had a not-so-active day so far.

We left this morning at half past nine, checked out and took the bus to the airport.

For only €3 - mind you, it's 28km.

This time, the checks were very easy peasy, the people in Hong Kong are not as strict as the Chinese (thank god).

Summary of Hong Kong:

- incredibly amazing city

- definitely worth a vacation (you can also do meeeeeega shopping here)

- the Indians were still very strange

- Hong Kong is very western, absolutely incomparable to China

- the most beautiful mega city we have been to so far

- prices are about the same as in Germany, but much more expensive than China

- skyline is breaaaaaaaaaaathtaking 😍

- everyone speaks English here!! Even the construction workers πŸ˜‚

Now about our day.

We flew from Hong Kong to Hanoi (capital of Vietnam), about 1:40 hours.

We only have a 6-hour time difference here.

The flight was okay, the landing was a bit turbulent. Lara didn't admit to Jasna that it was a bit strange when she asked if it was normal. But alright πŸ˜‚ you don't always have to be honest πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

The Vietnamese immigration was finally not a problem.

At the baggage claim, we had a small heart attack because our garbage bags felt like the last ones to arrive.

Well, they're here now.

And then the search began πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ We had booked a shuttle service directly to the hotel.

Uh yeah. After an hour, it still hadn't arrived.

Lateness is Lara's favorite attribute (not!). Eventually, she got fed up and called the hotel.

After another 15 minutes, one finally arrived.

But he was incredibly sweet and apologized a hundred times.

Duc's upper arms are as wide as our wrists, mind you. He turned the music up loud and we started to get into it. For a change, some English music - even some electro πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ˜‚

Anyway, there are no traffic rules here either, but Duc safely took us to the hotel.

Good boy. Of course, we got his phone number right away - in case we have any questions πŸ˜‚πŸ™πŸ½

At the hotel, we fooled the receptionist and told him we're here for business. He actually believed us - with garbage bags on our backs πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

The room is well... as long as it has a prison window facing the hallway - but air conditioning πŸ˜‚πŸ™πŸ½

First, we had some food and met a German couple from Cologne (€4 per person with beer 🍺). We exchanged some words and took their advice to go to a street with bars. Just a two-minute walk.

There are soooo many foreigners here.

We Biertrinkers (not) even drink it here - and it tastes good.

330ml for one euro πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We're just relaxing here and getting messed up with daiquiris (€1.5) and beer (€1). And dancing a bit to Timmy Trumpet πŸ€™πŸ½

Have a great day - our head will thank us tomorrow πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

We're already in love with Vietnam πŸ–€
