Donor heart the third

Naipablaak: 23.05.2019

Yes, this is already a long process with this repair. After we came back from our trip to Rurrenabaque and La Paz, nothing really happened. We were a bit disappointed because our mechanic said he would check on it every two days. Well, okay, we settled back in our regular hostel. To speed up the whole process, we went with an employee from our workshop to the mechanic who installs the engine, and voila: things are really progressing. It's a shame that you always have to be on their feet to make progress. Here are some impressions of how the guys work. We had a three-day delay because the motor seller didn't deliver the engine mountings. Instead of asking, the colleague just waited. The specialists also spent three days looking for an oil pan.

The original plan was to keep our transmission and only replace the cover with the Toyota transmission so that the transmission could be attached to the engine. When that didn't work out, they made a spacer between our original transmission and the Toyota engine. Another two days of delay, and another two days of delay because the mechanics didn't have money to pay the toolmaking.

Since we started going there, we have been taking over such work to speed things up a bit. And yesterday, the engine was finally IN the car. We hope that we can really get going by the end of the week. Keep your fingers crossed.
