Potosi

Potosi, a city on the way to my actual next destination - Uyuni. Since I don't want to take a long bus ride at once, it's the perfect stopover.

I arrive in the early afternoon and have plenty of time to explore the city and visit a museum. The English tour is great. Very interesting and educational. Potosi and its mines were an important location for coin production. The current dollar sign apparently originated from this time. The museum showcases the different eras, good and bad times, and the coin production. Unfortunately, taking pictures in this museum was not allowed.

After so much information, I'm pretty tired at the end of the day, but I still decide not to directly implement my original plan to go to Uyuni. Instead, I'm headed to Tupiza.
