Three consecutive days off, so let's go to Fuji. I'm actually not far from Fuji. However, there is a small mountain range between the hostel and the mountain. So, to Fuji, a city south of Fuji :) And to take away the suspense right away: I did not climb Fuji. Since I've been walking around without my insoles all the time, my right foot is now protesting :( So, only small hikes around Fuji. Anyway, there are more beautiful pictures :D
If it weren't for this phenomenon again, that clouds like to hang around high mountains. Actually sunshine, a little hazy, and lots of clouds around Fuji :( I asked the owner of the hostel in Fuji if there are nice hiking trails around the mountain. A huge radiant smile: 'Of course!' West of Fuji there is a lake called Tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog) and a bit away from it beautiful waterfalls: Shiraito no taki. Between these two things, there is a 10 km long hiking trail that I did not take because of my foot. But luckily Japan has a good public transportation network.
The Tanuki lake was artificially created, with a beautiful view of Fuji. But the highlight of the day was definitely the waterfalls. I even briefly forgot that I once again didn't get a good view of Fuji (despite waiting at the lake for 2 hours :D).
