On our second evening in Gansbaai / De Kelder's, we ended up at Thyme at Rosemary's. After a short drive, just under 5 km, we arrived in the center of Gansbaai.
Anni (the server) welcomed us at the open upper stable door and once it was clear that we had a valid reservation, we were allowed to enter.
The dining room looked more like a cozy room than a 'restaurant'. We were taken care of by Klay and Anni. The wine selection was generous, the menu was clear, but it had a bit of everything.
Helena opted for a classic bobotie with ostrich for the main course, and I had a tender braised oxtail (I can't remember the last time I had this). Helena had a fish soup for the starter and I had a springbok carpaccio. The wine suggested by Klay was a perfect match. We finished the delicious meal with an espresso and headed back to our accommodation.
With a glass of wine and the leftovers from the previous evening, we pondered the day while taking in the view of the bay in Hermanus.
