It is our last day in Canada before Icelandair takes us to Reykjavík and then on to Berlin tomorrow.
(The flight with Icelandair is a highly recommended connection for travel to North America with good value for money. With short layovers, you can stretch your legs before continuing the flight. A multi-day stopover in Reykjavik is also possible.)
We booked our accommodation in Terrbonne (20 km west of Montreal) through Airbnb. The vacation home "Getaway with friends and family" is located in the sunshine. A 100-year-old cottage with many special features, modern amenities, and lots of space, the small garden extends to the river.
We use the morning for some last-minute shopping, and in the afternoon, we get a little impression of Montreal while strolling through the old town and to the harbor. We kind of miss the tourist highlights - a place like many others. Maybe that's just because of the off-season and the missing flair. Unfortunately, the drive to the planned walk in Parc du Mont Royal with a view over the city has fallen victim to the rush hour and therefore endless traffic jams. Once again, it confirms that destinations in nature are the better alternative for us.
Goodbye Canada, we will be back!
