Today, nothing much happened other than chilling and a visit to the swimming pool. Besides that, a few WhatsApp calls, reading - and Sunday is already over.
The photos show the dishwashing area in the project. There is a concrete basin like this in every kitchen. I think there is only one manufacturer and one model. The barrels contain rainwater, which is used to rinse the dishes after meals. However, the cleaning rags for the floor are also washed here, as is typical in Nicaragua. It almost feels like I have already reported on this. Next to it, already visible in the second image on the left, are the two toilets, one for ladies and one for gentlemen. Toilet paper is in the former office, you always have to get the roll first. With the new office, another toilet was completed, which cannot be used by the children.
Two Dutch volunteers have donated a large dispenser for liquid soap and a paper dispenser to the project as a farewell gift, just like in a public toilet. There is a sink outside on the wall in front of the former office, next to Jackie's cooking area. There used to be a piece of soap reliably. Now these things are hanging there. They really don't fit into the ambiance at all. The children are supposed to wash their hands before eating (always, not just since the new dispensers are there). At first, they couldn't really handle the liquid soap and the paper. The dispensers were empty in no time. That's why a training session had to take place last Friday: How do I wash my hands properly? In addition, there is a step-by-step guide with photos next to the sink. Well, I would have preferred to buy a few new games for that money.
Weather: same as yesterday.
