Tag 59 and 60 - Happy New Year!

Naipablaak: 02.01.2018

Wishing everyone a happy new year and all the best for 2018!

Yesterday (New Year's Eve) almost went wrong. The resolution was: don't be in bed before the family. So we sat in this restaurant on the party mile, where they had announced a Latino live band. They were indeed there. And now comes the surprise: the singer couldn't sing and the music sounded squeaky and clattering. Maybe it was because of the Hammond organ? It took a while until we could pay the overwhelmed waiter. Death by boredom. But just a few meters down the street, the overflowing life flooded us. Bingo! The whole street was filled with dancing people. The band - attention, hold on: was fantastic. Everyone danced with everyone. In some places, you had to dance your way through: first perform a little solo in the middle of the circle, then you could continue. Or just stay there. Dance style doesn't matter. There was hardly anyone who was NOT dancing.

Some residents had opened their front doors and put a speaker outside. Everyone passing by was invited to join the party.

At home around 2 o'clock in the morning, the family was still awake as expected. I danced a bit, but then they were too drunk for me. Mariello, for example, couldn't look straight ahead, literally speaking. He couldn't talk either. And did that snobbish nephew just dance towards me? Someone kept fiddling with the music, which made me bored. Premise not fulfilled. Last conscious perception of the time around 3.30 am in constant noise.

Now we are waiting at my favorite swimming pool for the brunch buffet to open. They are already over an hour late. What, no coffee? But I'm sure you can do something... Wonderful, thank you! Typical Nicas! 😁 A small folklore group sweetens the wait with a seemingly always the same folk song. Somehow funny.

Unfortunately, no sharp photos again, because taken with the phone. And I can't upload the small video.

Weather exactly like yesterday.
