On our third day in Honolulu, we had to get up early because we had to pick up our two Harleys at 8 o'clock. Fortunately, the motorcycle rental was right next to our hotel, so getting up early was very moderate. By the way, Brigitte had the slight suspicion that I had chosen the hotel only because of its proximity to the Harley shop π. A short time later, we were sitting on our mopeds, both equipped with an ultra-loud exhaust, and then we went along the magnificent Pacific coast almost once around the island. We had a fantastic day with perfect weather and this tour fulfilled a long-cherished wish for me. Especially because you are allowed to ride without a helmet here in Hawaii, which of course I did. Brigitte, of course, did not. She is the more sensible and wiser one of the two of us.
Our first stop was at Kualoa Ranch, where films like "Jurassic Park" or "Godzilla" were shot. Unfortunately, our time was not enough to participate in one of the many tours, as we still had quite a distance ahead of us.
After a few beach visits, such as the surfer spot in the north of the island, we took a coffee break at the Turtle Bay Golf Club with 2 golf courses that are right on the Pacific.
Our last longer stop then took us to the "Dole Plantation", a huge area in the middle of the island, where mainly pineapples are grown. I think everyone of us has eaten a Dole pineapple or Dole banana at some point. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to see all the attractions of the plantation, such as the largest maze in the USA.
After a 9-hour tour with a final, very exhausting long stretch on the crowded 12-lane highway, we arrived back at the Harley station, a little tired but very happy and inspired. It was an unforgettable experience and a wonderful day. Oh yeah.... today I'm especially proud of Brigitte. It wasn't an easy ride, and considering that she hasn't been riding motorcycles for long, she did an amazing job ππ. Besides, it was very hot and she sweated a lot under her black helmet. Strange.... I didn't sweat at all today ππ.
