Unfortunately, we won't be able to see yesterday's campfire spot in daylight today. It would have been interesting to see what she was afraid of.
We're setting off again around noon and heading to Knuthenborg Safaripark. The park is huge and you can drive through the very large enclosures with your car. You can even get out of the car in some areas or admire some of the animals from the outside (e.g. the tiger).
At times, you really believe that you are in the savannah. The park is beautifully located in the area. We see rhinos, zebras, ostriches, antelopes, elephants, lemurs.... and behold, a giraffe is blocking the road! We even feel small in our huge vehicle. We slowly drive past her - she licks our bicycles at the back of the motorhome, we continue before she gets even more hungry.
We also enter a dinosaur enclosure. It feels a bit like being in 'Jurassic Park'. The dinosaurs are animated and look deceptively real - really well done. We admire 'Big Joe', the world's largest complete skeleton of an Allosaurus.
We spend about 3 hours here - we skip the 'Lalapopo-Land' (an attached amusement park) due to time constraints. We continue to Nysted, where we secure a spot at the campground.
In the evening, we hop on our bikes and ride into town to find some food at the harbor. Only one 'grill stand' is open. The other restaurants are all closed. When we enter, the chef tells us that we have to wait for an hour, but we still order and get our food (finally some Danish fish) after 15 minutes.
Just before going to bed, Flo wants to book tomorrow's ferry to Germany and realizes with horror that there are only available seats from 18:15 onwards. Too late for us - we want to go to the Lüneburg Heath. We change our plans and take a different ferry route (Gedser-Rostock instead of Rødby-Puttgarden), a longer way, but the journey is possible at 15:45.
