The next day started extremely early for us. Around 4:30 am, our tour guide picked us up. Together with a few other travelers, we headed to the Lagunas Altiplánicas. They are located about 90km from San Pedro and already at an altitude of 4000m. The two lagoons, Miscanti and Miñique, are located at the foot of a volcano. This place is truly untouched by civilization, and since we went there very early in the morning, we were the only visitors at that time.
In the afternoon, we had to take a break from the excursions and catch up on some sleep. In the evening, following Camilo's recommendation, we went to a very nice restaurant in San Pedro. Riccardo went for a typical Chilean dish, Reineta a lo Pobre (fish on a mountain of fries, with onions and an egg on top), and I took the opportunity to eat something fresh again, a huge salad with quinoa and camembert. Very, very delicious!
