We have a new addition to our family: Alma! The little one has been keeping us busy for a week. I waited a bit to share the news because I didn't feel like dealing with the reactions ;) We think that if you already have one dog, the second one doesn't require much more work. In apartments, pets are usually allowed or not, regardless of whether there is one or two dogs. You still have to take the same amount of walks with one dog, and Naomi also benefits from having another dog around. That's all for now :D It's even cozier in the car now. Alma is still very small. We got in touch with her through our Workaway job. She was born on a farm and lived there in the barn, which was very cold at this time of year. The owner of the farm didn't have time for the puppies and wanted to get rid of them quickly. He would have given them away at 5 weeks or even earlier. We managed to convince him to at least let her stay with her mom until the 6th week (usually, puppies are given away at 8 weeks). If no one had taken her, he probably would have abandoned the puppies, as is common here in Spain. We can only hope that Alma's siblings are doing well too. At least we were able to see her parents, two very beautiful German Shepherds who have probably never seen anything other than their fenced-in yard, which they are supposed to guard.

Alma is very lively and fearless. She even slept on her first car ride, while many other puppies get sick or scared. Taking care of such a small baby dog is very demanding. Of course, she also needs to go out every few hours at night, and she tries to chew on everything. But she has been letting us know from the beginning when she needs to go, and except for two accidents, she always does her business outside. She also bravely endured the visit to the vet and her first vaccination. She loves Naomi and always wants to play with her and lick her. Naomi usually tolerates everything very nicely and handles her gently. When it gets too much for her, she walks away or lets her know, which is good.

A day after we picked up Alma, it turned out that the little puppies and their mother, who were found when we first started staying there, have distemper. One of the little ones had to be put down already, and the others probably won't make it either. Distemper is highly contagious, but fortunately, Alma didn't have direct contact with them. We immediately fled, which we weren't sad about, since we didn't really like being surrounded by so many animals anyway.

In between, Sebastian had a successful performance for which he flew to Hamburg. So Naomi and I had a girls' night. We actually planned to find a new Workaway job before leaving. Well, you just never know what's going to happen, so we've been on the road again for a week. The first few days, we were in the Marbella area, and now we're higher up in the mountains. Yesterday was pretty gloomy weather, so we treated ourselves to a little cottage for a night near the small town of El Gastor through Airbnb. The nights have already gotten really cold. During the day, it's still nice and pleasant as long as the sun is shining. We now have a new Workaway job in sight, starting Monday, near Malaga, where we would take care of a house and animals during the Christmas holidays. In addition, the nice woman who rented us the cottage offered that we could stay until Thursday if we paint one room. Either you find nothing, or everything comes at once :)
