Iren is the secretary at the school. She has been wanting to go hiking with me all year. But since it was so hot, she decided to take me on a small boat tour that day to show me the best sights of the area from the water. Her husband drove the boat.
Laukelandsfossen
This waterfall is the highest in the region, with a drop of 135 m. It is up to 100 meters wide, and when you pass by, you get a nice water film on your skin.
Alden
The island group is called Alden, and the mountain that is always talked about is called 'Norske hesten', which translates to the Norwegian horse, which is a proud 460 meters high, and the hike up there is very demanding.
We continued over the sea, past the Geitøyra lighthouse (Goat Island), back to the mainland. Along the way, I was informed where all the teachers live :)
On the way, she also wanted to explain the name of a pile of stones in the sea to me, but I didn't know the words in Norwegian, so she asked her husband, and he replied 'cow shit', but I understood 'How is it?' and I answered wonderfully...
Korssund
I have already been to Olavskrossen, and now I had the opportunity to sail through the sound myself. We stopped in the harbor, where there were many people from Dale, whom I was introduced to and had a little chat with. Then we quickly walked up to the cross.
Bathing in Flekkefjord
Since it is still so hot at the moment, it was absolutely necessary. In Flekkefjord, a branch of Dalsfjord, it is warmer (currently around 22°C in the water), so we anchored and swam around the boat for a few laps before we headed home again!
Thank you very much, Iren, for this great trip and the many beautiful pictures!
