This is the end.. until tomorrow

Naipablaak: 28.10.2016

After almost a month of wandering around, we have now settled in Bangkok for 7 days. Awesome city! There is a huge river here where you can reach your desired destination for 14 baht (about 25 cents). From there, you can take a taxi anywhere for a maximum of 2 euros, provided you put pressure on the driver to use the meter. Otherwise, you will be cheated here. Actually, you are constantly ripped off on the streets of Thailand if you're not careful. A few days ago, I wanted to buy a fried chicken leg by the roadside. When asked about the price, both female sellers answered at the same time with different prices. The higher price came from the mother of the stall owner, who was lurking in the background and smelled money in our pockets. If she only knew that we were sleeping in a rat hole on the outskirts of the city at that time..

Eating in Thailand is a lot of fun. The selection is diverse and you can find something new to discover in every corner, which never tastes the same as the others. For just under 2 euros, you can eat until you are full. If you avoid the tourist areas and eat where the locals usually eat, you will not be bothered or disappointed and the people are friendly.

We celebrated my birthday at the Lebua Tower, known from the second 'hangover' movie. Those were the most expensive drinks in the country and the restaurant menu reminded me of my goal to visit the Michelin-starred kitchens of Southeast Asia. That will have to wait a little longer, but I continue to gather inspiration until I can finally start again.

So now we enjoyed the view from the 65th floor and drank whiskey for priceless prices with two backpackers we met at our hostel. Well, you only have a birthday once a year. Some only have it every 4 years. And the whiskey was 'Dī māk' (ask google)

I can't exactly say what this blog is about. Just a little impression from Bangkok.

Tomorrow we're off to Cambodia. Something new again, just like every day here! We are excited.

Ps.: before we arrived here, we were in ko phi phi, ko Samui, ko phangan and ko Tao. I was simply too busy at the beach and in the sea to sit at my phone and write a blog.

Keeping a travel diary is just not for me, I think. I experience too much!
