When we wake up, the sun is shining. We check our weather app and it says rain from noon. So we decide to go on the hike that our balcony neighbor suggested, because it's shorter than our original ridge hike. However, we don't know what to expect. We walk 2 km along the road from our accommodation. The sun is already fading. Then we follow the signpost to 'Janosikove Diery' (Janosik's Holes). Along a wild stream, a path leads into the gorge.
We cross wooden and metal bridges, slippery rocks, and sometimes walk through the water constantly uphill. The rock walls rise on the left and right. Everywhere is moisture. It is very romantic, but also exhausting. You have to be careful not to slip.
Then we arrive at a mountain meadow with tables and benches and hut catering. Here we can rest for a while.
We decide to follow a different marking for the way back. First, we walk through the forest uphill, always over tree roots. It is difficult to find a suitable path all the time.
We still don't suspect what awaits us. After all, we have to go back down again. This leads us through narrow rock crevices and steep ladders, over wet rocks, and again through the water. In some places, we barely fit through. But we can do it! It is tiring but beautiful.
Before we return to our guesthouse, we treat ourselves to a lunch. It has become cooler and darker, but we still arrive dry. Later it rains, as announced earlier. It's a quiet afternoon in our accommodation.
