To the Matterhorn of Namibia

We leave Swakopmund after walking through the city again and visiting the German bookshop with antiquariat, heading north. Initially driving on a tar road along many mines including uranium mines with a lot of truck traffic, we turn off to the Spitzkoppe and Pontok Mountains, known for their many rock paintings. At the foot of the Spitzkoppe, which is also called the Matterhorn of Namibia due to its shape, individual rocks pile up, between which many lodges and campsites are nestled among the rocks. Our campsite is located on a now dried-up river, we get the place in the middle of the riverbed under 2 huge baobab trees. Once again, we are fascinated by the sunset and the starry sky by the campfire.
