Snorkeling

Ebipụtara: 14.01.2020

Hey guys,

Our day started today at 7:30 am once again with the gentle ringing of the alarm clock. Since we had a night out in the clubs and bars last night, we didn't get much sleep and accordingly, we didn't get out of bed this morning. But at 8:30 am we went snorkeling 🤩, so we had to somehow motivate ourselves and off we went.

Mareike, a few people from the travel group, and I went snorkeling all morning. Epul was also there and managed to get us a private boat, which means we spent the entire morning snorkeling as a travel group on our 'own boat'. At the harbor, we received a short briefing and then we boarded the boat and headed out to sea. After a 10-minute ride, we already stopped at the first of the three snorkeling spots and jumped into the water. Beautiful (blue) coral reefs and marine creatures were waiting for us. 🐠
After about 45 minutes, we went to the second snorkeling spot, unfortunately, the water there was not as clear, so we couldn't see as much. However, there were 5 statues in the water that we could take a closer look at.
And then we went to the last but most beautiful spot, the 'Turtlespot' 🐢🤩. We were able to admire some turtles and even swim with two of them. After that, we went to 'Gili Air' for lunch, the second of the three Gili Islands. We had two hours there, had lunch, and went for a swim.
After about 5 hours of the excursion, we returned to Gili Trawangan and went to our hotel.

We immediately went to the pool and booked our new accommodation for the next two nights here on Gili Trawangan. Tomorrow our trip with the travel group on Bali will end and Mareike and I will be on our own. Then the real adventure begins. 🤓

At 4:00 pm, we went with the travel group to a sunset bar on bicycles, had some drinks there, and watched the sunset. However, it was not as spectacular as we had imagined 😅. On the way back, we could still admire the 'Golden hour' over the sea.

On our way back to the hotel, Mareike and I lost the key for the bicycles🤦🏼‍♀️, which meant we had to pay for the 'damage'. We had to pay 50,000 Rupiah for the lost key, which is about 3 euros, so still acceptable. 😅

At 7:30 pm, we all met for the last time as a travel group to have dinner together. Unfortunately, the food was not good and the kitchen couldn't keep up either. Mareike, two people from our travel group, and I received our food half an hour later than the others.

Now we're back at the hotel and packing our backpacks so we can move tomorrow. When we're done, we'll go out and explore the clubs and bars again.

See you tomorrow and have a great day!

Best regards from Gili Trawangan, your Jojo 🥰
