... you can tell. It's already freezing cold this evening... but let's start from the beginning.
We got up early in the morning and set off towards the Durmitor Mountains, I read everywhere on the internet that it's supposed to be so steep and narrow, so I wanted to drive early to avoid heavy traffic and such.... So I was very excited and we even left without breakfast, just a coffee.
The journey was already great, such beautiful views; again of the bay.. and of the countryside and mountains! No more being squeezed between the sea and the mountains.. finally, wide open spaces! And: have they been expanding like crazy in recent years or what's going on here? Where are the narrow, winding roads?? Everything is so well-developed, sometimes even with 2 lanes in one direction... Okay, we purposely took the large roads on the map, not the small yellow ones.. which may have a nicer view/landscape.. but are the others really all driving the small roads with their big campers and then wondering why it's narrow? hmmm.. I don't know.. but we didn't find them..
As expected, our campsite is very basic. But that's fine here. You can see the mountains directly! The son of the campsite manager speaks German, he is very young and has just bought a new Lada Niva. We had to discuss that in detail, he immediately showed us a defect and asked if we think he can claim it, I told him that we work for a company that supplies car manufacturers, so we should know that ;) He was thrilled when he found out that Markus had already been to the production plant in Russia...! In turn, I was very excited about his cute little dog!! So cute! He wanted to give me one right away... he has another one that looks just like it! ..yes.. the cats will be thrilled... but it's really so adorable! Then we got a shot... brrr.. I'm still shaking when I think about it! But he doesn't drink alcohol. ahah, but he wants to get us drunk ;) And then another coffee.. with milk.. but it seems the milk was only homeopathic.. and I don't think we'll sleep tonight ;) The father/grandfather? who comes with black hands from working in work clothes and a cap told us exactly which cousin and sister and aunt of the uncle live in Austria and Germany.. a few last suggestions or instructions on where to hike today and tomorrow, and then we're done, the next guests are coming ;)
So, following the instructions, we set off from here for a small mini-hike to the black lakes. There, around both lakes, and back. The lakes are beautiful turquoise, when circling them you walk partly along the shore and partly through the forest.. but after seeing so many lakes on vacation, it wasn't really impressive, but it was just a way to pass the rest of the day :) The Chinese were there again, of course.. taking pictures, loudly discussing how to take the best photo... :( they do get on my nerves a bit.. ;)
We immediately made friends with our few neighbors at the campsite, it's different in a less touristy country like Montenegro.. the people at the campsite are completely different, and there are dogs, chickens and even a few cows running around everywhere ;) Our neighbors are: English with an old Mercedes with a wood stove, which is supposed to be operated for the first time today by the current owners. When trying to do so, Markus already had to unpack his tools, the door didn't want to open ;) They are traveling for 8 months, Belgians with a cute old classic Mercedes, they are traveling for 4 months, nice Germans, actually just normal on vacation ;) and a few others, but I think there are only 6 parties.. tonight we'll make a big fire.. that's the plan, because it's really cold in the evening and I'm really glad that I learned from last year and brought gloves and my headscarf... and how great that Johann has heating :)
