Blenheim and Picton

Waking up on the beach in the morning. 

Bird chirping, the sound of waves, and a refreshing swim in the Pacific 🌊

The cold shower is not cold anymore. I don't think I've ever been in such cold water🥶

We have breakfast with a view of the sea and with sunshine!!! We haven't seen that very often. Our neighbor Catweazle also comes by for a chat and we understand just as little as yesterday😫

Due to the weather forecast, we have made a change of plans. Today we are driving from Blenheim to Picton and want to book a ferry to Wellington for tomorrow.

We find Blenheim very disappointing. 

Due to Corona and a lack of personnel, only a few stores are open here and the city feels quite deserted. We stock up on groceries and arrive in Picton in pouring rain. 

Very bleak here. There are also hardly any shops or pubs open. Corona seems to have hit NZL hard. We were told that New Zealanders receive so much support from the state that hardly anyone wants to work after Corona.

We find a camping spot, do laundry, and receive the confirmation for the ferry tomorrow at 7:30 am. After the rain has subsided a bit, we walk through the harbor into town, which is still empty.

Not a place where you have to stay longer than one night.
