New year - new challenges🫣/ New year - new challenges 🫣

Ebipụtara: 25.01.2024

Hey and welcome back!☺️

Glad you've arrived. Both in the New Year and in my new and first blog entry in 2024. 😃

I was at home with my family on Christmas and New Year's Eve. It was the first Christmas Eve without my older brother. 🥲 Yeah okay, the two years I was in America don't count... 😂 He has his own little family now. It was a little strange... But on Boxing Day we met at the Jagdhaus (restaurant) in a nearby town to spend a little time together. I also saw my little niece again. The little one is so cute and she's growing way too fast! 🥰

We spent New Year's Eve together last year. Are you more of a team planning where to spend New Year's Eve or are you more of a team, oh, see who and where at short notice? So I'm definitely on the second team. 😂

You probably want to know whether I passed the intermediate exam in audio journalism and whether I'm happy with my sofa, right? Yes and yes. 😄 I passed the ZV. This now allows me to submit the podcast, which is about the topic of grief.

In particular, my fellow student and I dealt with the fact that grief is a taboo topic in society. In this article we will explain why this is the case and how you can best deal with grief. In the podcast, a friend of mine tells his story about how he lost his wife to leukemia 20 years ago and was given new strength and hope through his faith. The episode of the podcast is now finished and submitted. A really exciting topic because grief affects each of us. Then why not deal with the topic openly instead of hiding from your own feelings?

I don't think everything always goes smoothly in any life. There are also phases where we may feel alone or something is very close to us, something that we don't understand but that causes pain in us. As you can see, I'm still very much into this topic and there are different types of loss, especially when it comes to grief.

Have I made you curious? 😉 I'd like to show you the podcast because I think it's an important topic and it just needs to be addressed, that it's not reprehensible if you're sad sometimes and going through difficult phases in life.

But okay, now to the sofa.😅 I'm really happy that I now have a sofa in my shared room, as I always have guests here who stay overnight with me. For better comfort and additional seating, this two-seater sofa is really awesome. 😄 It was already inaugurated when a friend recently stayed with me.

But now I'm jumping back and forth in the order a bit again. I actually wanted to tell you about our report shoot at the FlicFlac circus in Nuremberg. It was an extraordinary and cool experience to be backstage at a circus. Have I ever said that I already love my job? 😍 Get into areas that aren't accessible to everyone else, pursue things you've always wanted to pursue and get a taste of all kinds of professions and, above all, keep meeting new people and hearing their stories. Insanely exciting - and never boring!

In the gallery you can see us filming and get a few impressions of what there is to see at Circus FlicFlac. 👏🏻 Of course we have finished the report now. Last Thursday (January 18th) we showed all the reports at the university. Always exciting to see what the other students have chosen and how they have implemented it.

Do you remember when I told you about my audio report about the hunt? The report that was rated so well by the professor. My professor wrote to me last week and asked if they could broadcast my report on university radio. Either in February or March. That really made me happy. 😃Of course I wrote to him saying I didn't mind. I'll let you know when it airs. Probably on Instagram and/or WhatsApp. Then you have the opportunity to hear how we make our contributions. 😊

I have already completed 5 of 7 exams for this semester. 🙌🏻 Yesterday (January 24th) I wrote media psychology for short on media reception and media effects research. It was a multiple choice test with 40 questions. At first it was quite difficult for me to get into it until I understood how the professor asked his questions. After that it went pretty well. Well, let's see what came of it. I have to get 50% correct to pass the course.

Now I still have the magazine cover and the digital journalism exam, also multiple choice. I can show you the magazine cover in the next blog entry. It is also finished. So for me now it's time to go through another two weeks and learn and then start the semester-free period! 😇

I booked a vacation at short notice. I'm going to travel alone again during the semester break. If not now then when? 🙃 You know me by now, I won't reveal where it's going yet. Okay, I won't make it too exciting... The city I'll fly to starts with D. Resolution will come later. 😉 I'm definitely very happy because I have to go out. Just a change of scenery. 🤪

Small update on the shared apartment: As expected, two ladies will be moving out of our shared apartment again. The two women with the two dogs move out. One changes college and the other skips college due to an injury. A new trainee will be coming from the end of February, also with a dog. I don't really see things myself anymore and sometimes I find it really difficult, with so many changes, so many things that don't even remain constant. 🤷🏼‍♀️

An interesting fact that I've already heard from two people about my city is that it's not easy here as a newcomer. The city is known for the fact that new people who move in are, I wouldn't say not welcomed, but rather avoided. That's how it feels sometimes. ✋🏻 It's sometimes really difficult to make contacts that last in the long term. Friendships that are honest, deep and reciprocal.

Yes, I'm studying journalism and I just said that I'm in contact with a lot of people, but I'm traveling for my studies. 🚶🏼‍♀️ These are often not contacts with whom you do things privately. From two years of Bible school, where I had several students around me every day because we lived together, to studying in a strange city where you have a very small circle of friends and a shared apartment that is not stable That's quite a challenge. 😅

The upcoming internship at ProSieben is also nice, but it will still be a challenge. Munich - another new city and a lot of new people. It's good that we learn from all challenges and grow from them. 💪🏻 📈 I'm excited about what's to come and most of all, I'm excited to see how God leads me!

Until the next blog entry - and don't forget to come back for the resolution. 🙂
