Today we woke up very early, at 4:45. After finishing packing, we took a pre-ordered taxi to Punta Cana airport. We went directly to check-in with AA.
After a 14-day stay in the Dominican Republic, you can generally enter the USA without any problems. But the devil is in the details: the day of arrival is not counted. Since we entered the Dominican Republic on 8/28/2021, we were missing exactly one day to meet the entry requirements.
All attempts to bribe were in vain, at least our flights were rebooked for tomorrow, Sunday, free of charge. I immediately booked a nice hotel by the sea near the airport, thanks to booking.com!
Maybe it's also fate not to get on a plane on such a historic day, but we're not superstitious.
For the measly 4 km from the airport to the hotel, the monopolistic taxi driver wanted 20 dollars, the fair trade commission should take action here.
Well, now we'll continue one day later. I informed the hotel in LA and the car rental company accordingly.
Happiness awaits......
