Imperia

Ebipụtara: 01.03.2022

Arriving in Italy, we find a beautiful little campsite 'Camping De Wijnstok' right across from the sea. Luckily, it's not as crowded as in France, so we decide to stay for a week. Imperia is one of the most authentic cities in Italy, as there is hardly any tourism here. No concrete blocks or beach chairs and umbrellas. Here, you experience the typical Italian life. In the afternoons, retirees play boules on the beach or simply enjoy the weather. Imperia stretches along the coast for several kilometers. A beautiful path along the cliffs and the beach leads to the harbor and the small city center. Everything is very peaceful and relaxed, allowing us to take a break from driving and carry out necessary work on Polly. It's so quiet here that we even see a wild boar in the almost dried-up riverbed, in the middle of the city and under a busy road. Italy seems to be more dog-friendly than it is usually known or suggested. At the local supermarket, there are special shopping carts with baskets for dogs so that owners can shop with their dogs. Just a few minutes from the campsite is a large fenced dog park that is frequently used.

Our next destination will be towards La Spezia. We hope it remains just as relaxed and less touristy.
