Travel to Montezuma

Okay, we already know the game, the paths are relatively short but the journey is long. I took the first bus from La Fortuna at 9 o'clock in the morning. The journey to San Ramon took just under 2 hours. Here, we first looked for the bus station for the next bus to Puntarenas. After a hundred meters hidden somewhere between the houses, I found it.

And off we went, it went pretty quickly. You could just buy your ticket, visit the toilet and then it was time to board the bus. This journey took about one and a half hours.

In Puntarenas, I initially set off on foot for the 2 km long way to the ferry terminal. A young crazy guy intercepted me and said, the ferry is leaving now... Come on, we can make it. And he set a speed that I could hardly keep up with my luggage. He tried to stop taxis and by now he was about 50 meters ahead when I managed to stop one. As soon as I was inside, he ran back and just made it into my taxi, and said something to the driver about the ferry, special price... 3000 Colones.

But I already knew the price was 810 Colones. I made it clear to the driver to start driving when the guy turned to me and wanted to be paid. I wondered, for what? I laughed! And the driver understood and drove off. After 3 minutes we reached the ferry terminal. Everything was relaxed here and it turned out that the ferry was leaving in an hour, at 3 o'clock, and the ticket price was, as I already knew, 810 Colones.

The crossing took one hour and was very comfortable, without any waves. We arrived in Pavona at 4:30 pm, and the next bus was already waiting there. It took me 90 minutes to get to the small charming village of Montezuma.
As you can see, I spent another whole day on the journey.

Montezuma

Montezuma is really very small and if you looked closely, you could see that mainly the hippies and backpackers meet here. You can walk through the whole village in a maximum of 5 minutes.

Here you will find several restaurants, 2 supermarkets, no ATMs, and accommodation in all price ranges.
Besides a lot of hammock sports, swimming and relaxing, I spent the next three days on a long extended walk on the beautiful long beach. Better said, there are three long, beautiful, natural and above all deserted beaches in a row.

Eventually, after 7 km, you will reach a small waterfall that flows directly into the sea. Great scenery - perfect cooling down!

All along the way, you can watch countless pelicans tirelessly diving into the sea in search of food. It's really beautiful to see these impressive animals in the wild.

I think coming here was a wise decision. Montezuma, I think the name alone is exotic and inviting.
