The capital of Cambodia

Ebipụtara: 09.02.2018

Today we were allowed to sleep longer because we were heading south to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. The first stop for lunch was fantastic. It was an oasis to feel good. See for yourself in the pictures.

We made another stop on our way, but this time at a local market. There were nuts, dried fruit, but also very unusual things: fried insects, cockroaches, spiders and other small animals. Alicia from our group even let a live spider crawl on her arm.

The next day we went to the Killing Fields and the S-21 prison, which is now a museum. We had a local guide who told us more about the rule of the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979. It was very impressive, but also very intense. We later met one of the 7 survivors of the prison.

Later in the evening, I met some girls from our group at a rooftop bar with a pool. The view over the capital was gigantic.

But since I was still a little hungry, I decided to walk down to the river and look for a nice restaurant. I even saw the Royal Palace. My Indian food was very delicious and nicely spicy.
