Ụbọchị ikpeazụ na Langkawi - njem ahụ na-aga n'ihu

Ebipụtara: 18.01.2019

Today was our last day here on the island. And it started unusually early because Nora was already awake at 9:30 AM :) Usually, we always go to bed around midnight here, and she sleeps in the next morning. Not today, but that's okay, so we could start "early" and were already at the beach for breakfast by 11 AM. The short drive along the main road was unusually empty, no shop was open yet - we have never experienced that before :)

Since it was a bit cloudy today, it seemed like a perfect day at the beach. So off to the sea. Eventually, two Malaysian girls joined us. Nora didn't like that for some reason because she didn't understand them and felt visibly uncomfortable. However, they were not deterred by us speaking different languages and diligently helped us build our sandcastle. When we went into the water, they followed. The two of them were really cute and always sought our company. That was perfectly fine until the older girl decided to have some fun and held a crab the size of an arm under our noses, which she had just dug up from the sand.....wow, I got really scared!!! That deducts a point from my sympathy! :-))

After the day at the beach, unfortunately, we had to return our scooter. It's annoying to have to walk everywhere again.

For dinner, we went to a restaurant that we have already visited several times and were warmly welcomed. There are countless restaurants here that offer seafood in all variations, always fresh. There is a "fresh counter" in the entrance area where you can choose your own fish, which is then taken to the kitchen. It's not really my thing, but the people here love it. And everything that came to the table always looked really delicious. But we had the chicken again in several variations, which has never disappointed us. The cool thing about this restaurant is that you can order the dishes in small portions. So we had 5 different things on the table and could indulge ourselves as we pleased!

Afterwards, Nora got herself an ice cream from the small supermarket :) This time I managed to take a photo of it.

Back at the hotel, it was sadly time to pack again. By now, I am already experienced in that and everything has its fixed place in the backpack. As nice as it is to move on, you also leave behind a familiar environment. We spent a whole week on Langkawi, even though we initially planned to stay for only 3 days. But that's exactly the great thing about spontaneous traveling, we stay where we like it until we feel it's time to move on. Tomorrow we'll take the ferry to Georgetown.
