Back in the Potato Land - Heinsberg - January 26th

Ebipụtara: 06.02.2020

We wake up early and get up around 8 o'clock. It is just as foggy as the day before and damn cold...! I take a shower and it takes damn long until warm water finally comes... Campers haven't been here for a while! We leave around 9:30 AM and slowly realize that it was actually our last night abroad before we reach the Potato Land again. But for now, we drive on the smallest country roads to Belgium and from there to the Netherlands to visit our next destination, Heinsberg, to see Mother! We postpone crossing the border as long as possible, but eventually we reach the border sign....mmmmhhhh...the mood is rather sad than cheerful, even though we are very happy to see the lumpy relatives again. We don't talk much, rather silent and just stare out the window! But we are not yet at home and a little bit of the travel feeling remains!

By noon, we reach our destination and our nephew Piet has made a nice welcome sign for us, he's currently on vacation at Grandma's! The joy is immense and everything still feels completely unreal. Being in a house again after such a long time is somehow strange! The dog handles it the least...! We let ourselves be pampered and cooked delicious food. We are not used to so much food anymore...! For the first time no camping toilets and camping showers...but Mother's bathroom, everything strange!

At night we sleep in the bus, of course, and not in the house, a little old habit must remain and after all, we are still on tour! The next day we continue to indulge and eat delicious food, and for the first time I go to a German supermarket with Mom...everything strange...not speaking French, Spanish, or English anymore is unfamiliar! The potatoes still have as little time as at the beginning of our journey, nothing has changed here...great!

In the evening, for the first time in half a year, we watch a movie on TV before crawling back into the bus to sleep!
