The key

Just as it ended with dinner, it continued with breakfast.3 fried eggsBaked cheeseBaked bread and FetaCheese pieGreek coffee and Mountain TeaI was well nourished for the next leg of the tour to Monastiraki. The tours here are long but not very difficult. There was another pathless section through the bushes, but I know that well enough by now. After a break in Thripti, we continued. Near the village, there was a point where the route changed. The new route went along a dirt road. When I was standing there for orientation, a Greek man in his pickup truck stopped and pointed in a different direction. When I probably looked a little confused, he got out and walked with me for 100 meters in the direction he had pointed, to show me the entrance to the old E4 path, which went through the forest. It seemed important to him that I take the more beautiful path. I love the countryside and the people. Bob was waiting for guests at the Monastiraki tavern. We introduced ourselves and since Georgina had already announced me, he knew that I wanted a room at Lady Sophia's. After a welcome drink and a nice conversation, I had him show me the room. Fabrica: Probably the old olive oil mill. Everything lovingly decorated. See pictures. Then I went up to Bob to joke and ask if I should reserve a table for tonight (I was obviously the only guest in town). He told me he would still be open for another hour. The answer to the question about a simple meal was that he could warm up yesterday's Moussaka for me. I found that perfectly okay. I had a glass of wine with it and some bread and Feta. When I wanted to pay, he told me I was invited. What more can you say.I am enjoying the peace and hospitality in rural Crete very much. Hopefully it will stay that way for a while.
