Ebipụtara: 22.03.2018

Here it is, the last post from New Zealand! 👋🏻 To celebrate, here are some facts about my entire trip (as you can see, we had a lot of time on all those bus rides 😄)

Throughout my trip, I spent a total of

153 hours in transportation (57.5 hours on airplanes, 95.5 hours on buses - without breaks!!!).

• stayed in 38 different accommodations (in addition, I spent 4 nights on a boat and 5 nights at airports or bus stops).

• spent 23 hours underwater (with a total of 31 dives in Thailand and Australia).

• visited 12 lakes (all of them in New Zealand!).

• took nearly 5000 photos.

• wrote 180 pages of my Master's thesis! 💪🏻

Which number surprises you the most? 😄 It was really interesting to collect these facts. But now let's get to my last two days in New Zealand:

21/03/2018: We spent Wednesday in the beautiful city of Tauranga. Our hostel was right by the water and in the early morning, we took a walk along the harbor at sunrise. Our goal? One last boat tour - Dolphin watching!!! 🐬

We spent a total of 4 hours out at sea on this boat. It didn't take long for us to spot a group of dolphins. Over 80 dolphins swam around our boat for about 1.5 hours!!! So amazing! Although not so easy to take photos. I took some videos, but I can't upload them here.
Our captain told us many interesting facts about dolphins, for example, that they can hold their breath for up to 5 days and dive up to 200 meters deep! They are also considered very intelligent animals because it has been discovered that dolphins are capable of lying. It was truly a beautiful last highlight. I will miss the sea and the warmth so much!

We walked back to the hostel along the harbor at noon and had Fish&Chips for the last time.
The hostel itself had a balcony where we enjoyed the sun one last time before embarking on our final bus journey to Auckland. Man, we are so glad we are done with that now! 😄 Bus rides were by far the most exhausting part of my trip. We arrived at the hostel in Auckland around 10:00 PM. There, we packed our belongings and went to bed early.

22/03/2018: Our very last day. It still feels weird, I still can't fully realize it. 😅 We had amazingly beautiful weather and had long planned to do our favorite activity one more time: having breakfast! 😄 That's what we did, in a very cute café.

Since our flight wasn't until 8:20 PM in the evening, we had plenty of time during the day to stroll through the city.

Before we drove to the airport, we also had a picnic in Albert Park and soaked up a lot of sun, which we hopefully get through security so that we can bring it back to Germany! 😊
This is our travel route (all times are in German time for simplicity):
• Thursday, 8:20 AM: Departure from Auckland
• Thursday, 9:30 PM: Arrival in Beijing
• Friday, 7:00 AM: Departure from Beijing
• Friday, 5:15 PM: Arrival in Frankfurt
• Friday, 7:32 PM: Departure from Frankfurt HBF (Main Station)
• Friday, 11:23 PM: Arrival at Minden Bahnhof (Train Station)

We still have a lot ahead of us! 😄 But fortunately, we are together. See you very soon, my dear friends! ♥️😊
