Hello,
not much exciting happened today. First, we went into Anchorage and looked for a laundromat to do laundry. After that, we went to Target, a huge miscellaneous store, and to many souvenir shops in the city center. Sometimes you just have to be a tourist and go into such stores. We actually wanted to visit the world's largest chocolate fountain, but we were in the wrong branch of the 'Alaska Wild Berry Products' shop. The branch with the chocolate fountain was on the other side of the city. So we decided to stop by on the way back.
Finally, we had German food at 'West Berlin', a German restaurant in Anchorage. It didn't taste as good as in Germany itself, but it was very delicious.
Then we left Anchorage and headed south. The highway followed the coast, so we had a beautiful view. We even passed by a river where many people were fishing and there were many bald eagles in the background. Those were our first bald eagles on our trip and these animals are really huge, gliding through the air!
For the night, we stopped at a rest area surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
