Week 2 on the ranch

Ebipụtara: 21.05.2019

In the second week, everyday life returned. In the morning, we brought the mares back to the pasture with the young foals and mucked out the stalls. Tanya trained with the client's horses while I practiced western riding. Robert, who takes care of the horse's hooves, had some customers who brought their horses for hoof care.

In addition, the breeding season had started. Tanya has her own stallion, Hesa Hot Gunner, called Roscoe, with whom she bred her mares. We bred up to three mares a day, one in the morning, one at noon, and the last one in the evening.

On Tuesday, Nadine from Switzerland arrived. She did the ranch stay for 2 months 2 years ago. She visited us for 10 days, helped with the work, and enjoyed riding her favorite horses on the ranch again.

On Sunday morning, Cody, Tanya and Robert's son, took Nadine and me to the shooting range, and we were allowed to try out his collection of guns and pistols. In the afternoon, we watched the Indian Race, which took place in Bonnyville. In the Indian Race, an Indian rode a horse without a saddle once around the track, then he jumped off the horse and onto the second one. He repeated this again until he had completed 3 laps.
