This morning brought a little surprise 😊
In front of our apartment, there was a small pickup truck 😂 After breakfast, we set off for Virginia City. This is an old Western town with saloons and historic buildings dating back to 1860. At the entrance of the town, there were numerous old cars and various antique knickknacks. Coincidentally, on this Sunday, there was also a camel and ostrich race taking place in Virginia City. It was quite amusing. It felt like a fair in Pützchens Markt, but in Nevada, right in the desert. There were also fun games being played for both children and adults. The firefighters were honored, and the national anthem was sung. As we drove through the town, you could see a Trump flag on almost every second house. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 It really felt like the town belonged to Donald Trump.
Afterwards, we briefly went shopping at Walmart. Halloween decorations 🎃🎃🎃🤡🤡🤡👻👻👻 were already fully displayed on the shelves.
On our way back to Lake Tahoe, we were able to see a forest fire really close up. It was somewhat strange to drive so near a forest fire. However, they manage it well here and extinguish the fires 🔥🔥🔥 relatively quickly. 💦💦💦
Then we drove back to Lake Tahoe and went into the lake again. The lake is simply beautiful and wonderful!
In the evening, we went to a German restaurant called Himmel Haus in South Lake Tahoe. As you can see, it was delicious. There was schnitzel 😋. But Grandma Irmgard's red cabbage is much tastier. 😃
